SAN DIMAS, Calif. -- The University of Providence women's soccer team defeated Life Pacific 4-1 on a blistering day in San Dimas, Calif. Friday morning.

The Argos (2-1-1) had the first chance of the game when senior Ernestina S. Ofori took the ball all the way down the field, but her shot was blocked by a Warrior (0-3) defender.

Following a corner kick by Life Pacific, the Argos were awarded a free kick just outside the box and senior Malan Flygare went top corner to bury it for her first goal of the season.

A few minutes later the Argos would keep their momentum when freshman Brooklyn Poole's lead pass found junior Kailey Camper who beat the goalkeeper to put UP ahead 2-0.

Just before the half the Argos would add another goal when senior Mel Alvarado-Lopez sent a cross into the box which found freshman Jordan Fagert whose shot found the back of the net to put the Argos ahead by three.

Neither side would score the rest of the half as UP went into the break leading 3-0.

UP continued to add pressure in the second half when freshman Andriah Watson's lead pass found senior Ofori all alone who beat the keeper to put the Argos ahead by four.

The Warriors would add a goal in the 64^th minute when a corner kick found a Life Pacific attacker whose header found the back of the net.

Both sides would have chances the rest of the way but neither team was able to capitalize as the Argos defeated Life Pacific 4-1.

The Argos will be back in action Sept. 20 when they host Walla Walla University. The first touch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (MST) in Great Falls, Mont.
