CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Providence women's wrestling program defeated #9 Southern Oregon to place third at the National Dual Meet Championships for the highest finish in program history Saturday.

The Argos fell in the semifinals to #1 Life to open the day, but #9 Paige Respicio was the highlight for the Argos defeating #2 Sarah Savidge 10-0. #1 Erin Hikiji also picked up a victory in the dual versus life defeating Brianna Funakoshi 10-0.

In the third-place match versus #9 Southern Oregon the Argos opened the dual with a pair of tech falls from #1 Erin Hikiji and #4 Paige Morales winning 10-0 and 12-1, respectively.

Following a loss at 117, #7 Alyssa Randles also won by tech fall defeating last year's NAIA National Runner-Up Jasmine Howard 14-3.

#1 Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp kept it going for the Argos with a pin in 1:27, and #9 Aspen Dodge secured the dual for the Argos with a 5-2 decision over Holland Weiber.

The Argos will be back in action Sunday, Jan. 19 for a tri-dual with Vanguard, Simpson, and Southern Oregon in Ashland, Ore.
