ASHLAND, Ore.– The University of Providence women's wrestling program competed at a tri-dual hosted by Southern Oregon throughout the day Sunday.

In the Argos opening dual freshman Mackenzie English got things going for UP with a 10-6 victory via decision followed by sophomore Kailey Rees and junior Ty Takamori winning by tech fall and a 12-6 decision to put UP ahead 17-11.

In the final bout of the dual freshman Jasmine Adiniwin secured the match for UP pinning Avery Muden-Manko in 1:15 to win 26-20.

In the Argos dual versus Vanguard UP won eight of ten matches including two forfeits with #10 Isa Bocanegra kicking things off with an 11-5 decision.

#15 Kayla Shota continued the momentum for UP winning by tech fall and then freshman Angelina Doral and Mackenzie English won via pin in nine seconds and 1:25, respectively.

The Argos did not stop there with Ty Takamori and #20 Kacey Lee Pua also winning via pin to secure the Argos 38-9 victory over Vanguard.

In the final dual of the day #10 Isa Bocanegra and Kailey Rees picked up victories with Isa defeating Diamond Lopez 5-0 and Kailey pinning Esther Levendusky in 3:31. 

The Argos will be back in action Saturday, Jan. 25 when they head to Fort Wayne, Ind. for the Warrior Open.
