GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball team hosts Rocky Mountain College on Thursday, Jan. 9 in Great Falls. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the McLaughlin Center.
 
Last Time Out
The Argos opened Frontier Conference play with an 83-78 victory over Carroll College. Senior Jamil Bowles led the way for the Argos with 22 points and senior Antoine Boyd Jr. and junior Ryan Chavez added 17 and 15, respectively.
 
Stat Leaders
The Argos leading scorer so far this season has been senior Jamil Bowles who is averaging 16.5 points per game. Bowles is also leading the team in rebounds with 8.7 per game. UP has three others averaging double figure scoring in senior Mike Wright Jr. with 13, senior Antoine Boyd Jr. with 13, and junior Ryan Chavez with 10.8. Defensively Boyd Jr. leads the way with 1.9 steals per game and is tied with Bowles for the team high in assists with 2.4 per game.
 
Rocky Mountain College
The Battlin' Bears were receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll after starting their season 12-2. The Argos are 5-5 in their last 10 matchups with Rocky Mountain College but have won the last two including their 95-87 victory in the quarterfinals of the Frontier Conference Tournament last season. Both Rocky Mountain College and the Argos are 1-0 in Frontier Conference play with the Battlin' Bears coming off a victory over #6 Montana Tech their last time out.
