Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Argos Fall to Owls 2-0

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- The University of Providence men's soccer program fell to Oregon Tech 2-0 Friday afternoon.

The Owls (5-2-4) had the first opportunity of the game when a free kick from just outside the box found an Oregon Tech attacker in front of the goal, but his header was saved by sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Schoenen.

Oregon Tech continued to pressure with a few shots on goal until a corner kick from the Owls connected in the box and their header beat the Argo goalkeeper to give Oregon Tech a 1-0 lead.

The Argos (3-6-2) had a few corner kicks over the next ten minutes but were unable to get a shot on frame.

Both sides had a few chances the rest of the half, but neither team could find the back of the net as the Argos went into the break trailing 1-0.

The Owls pressured to begin the second half with a pair of shots on goal, but the Argos answered with a corner kick, however UP could not get a shot on goal.

The Argos continued to threaten with a shot on goal from sophomore Pedro Rodrigues, but an Owl defender kicked it out of the goal right before it crossed the line.

The Owls added another goal in the 75th minute, and despite late pressure from the Argos, UP fell to Oregon Tech 2-0.

The Argos will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 11 when they travel to Ashland, Ore. The first touch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (MST) versus Southern Oregon.
