ASHLAND, Ore. -- The University of Providence men's soccer
program fell to Southern Oregon 4-1 Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders (9-2-1) scored the first goal of the game in the third minute and continued to pressure adding another in the 25
th to go ahead 2-0.
The Argos (3-7-2) were unable to get a shot on frame the rest of the half as UP went into the break trailing by two.
UP answered to begin the second half when a free kick from junior
Hugo Gil connected with junior
Geovanni Lugo in the box and his header found the back of the net to cut the lead in half.
Southern Oregon added another two goals over the next 20 minutes, and despite a late shot from sophomore
Pedro Rodrigues, the Argos fell to Southern Oregon 4-1.
The Argos will be back in action Thursday, Oct. 16 when they host Carroll College. The first touch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in Great Falls, Mont. Â Â Â
