FORT JUNCTION, Colo. – The University of Providence women's wrestling program went 1-1 at the Colorado Mesa Duals on Saturday.

In the first dual of the day the Argos won all 10 matches against NCAA Vanguard University. The Lions forfeited four weight classes but at 103 the Argos started strong with #1 Erin Hikiji defeating Alexis Garca 10-0.

#7 Alyssa Randles and senior Kacey Lee Pua picked up victories by tech fall and decision, respectively, and #4 Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp, #11 Hailey Sutton, and freshman Elise Twait all won by fall.

In the dual versus #5 Colorado Mesa the Argos once again won the first match with #1 Hikiji defeating Kinlee Bradley 12-0.

Following an Argo loss at 110, freshman Joely Slyter defeated Morgan Johnson 8-3 to put the Argos ahead 7-6.

UP would drop the match at 124 but would answer with three straight wins from Estrella-Beauchamp pinning Thalia Vogelsang in 29 seconds, #7 Han defeated Keyla Ajoleza 8-3, and freshman Elise Twait had the highlight of the day defeating NCAA #3 Gretchen Donaly 10-7.

The Argos lost the final three matches of the dual to fall to #5 Colorado Mesa 25-17.

The Argos will be back in action on Sunday, Nov. 23 when they head to Spokane, Wash. Wrestlers will begin at 10:00 a.m. (MST) in the Spokane Open.
