GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball team fell to Bellevue University 95-73 Friday night.
The Bruins (11-0) scored the first four points of the game but a layup on the other end from junior
Preston Condie cut the lead in half. Â
Bellevue continued their momentum with a 12-2 run but a jumper from sophomore
Anthony Hobbs and free throws from Condie kept the Argos (1-11) within eight.
The Bruins slowly extended the lead out to 16 but free throws from sophomore
Quinn Swanson and a jumper from junior
Marcus Lawson made it 42-30 with just over three minutes left in the half.
Both teams traded baskets over the final three minutes as the Argos went into halftime trailing 49-36.
The Bruins opened the second half on a 9-2 run to push the Bellevue lead out to 20, but a three-pointer from senior
Brendan Redhead and a layup from freshman
Brent Maldonado made it 64-49 with 12 minutes remaining.
Bellevue quickly extended their lead back to 20, but the Argos would not go away with layups from freshman
Brady Bantz, Hobbs, and Swanson to cut the lead to 14 with just under seven minutes left.
Over the next three minutes the Bruins answered with a 7-0 run to increase the lead to 21, and despite a late flurry from the Argos, UP fell to Bellevue University 95-73. Â

The Argos will be back in action Saturday, Dec. 13 when they host Dakota State. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Great Falls, Mont.
