GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's wrestling program defeated Eastern Oregon 27-18 Saturday afternoon.
With the dual starting at 174, the Argos picked up the first victory of the contest with senior
Brady Ellison defeating Kylan Guerra 9-1.
The Argos continued their momentum into the next two matches with junior
Noah Poe-Hatten pinning Gabe Vasa and #8
Brendan Lockart pinning #20 Eric Karas to put UP ahead 16-0.
EOU answered by winning the next four matches to take an 18-16 lead, but at 149 junior
Tristan Bremer got the Argos back on track defeating #25 Cole Cross 12-2.
Leading by two with two matches left, #1
Pig Hobbs extended the Argo lead to five with a 12-8 victory over Carlos Valdez, and at 165 #22
Blaze Sumiye defeated John Rudebaugh 10-2 to secure the Argos 27-18 victory over Eastern Oregon.
The Argos will be back in action Thursday, Dec. 18 when they head to Lakeland, Fla. for the Fire Duals. UP will face #3 Indiana Tech, #4 Southeastern, Keiser University, and Rochester Christian beginning at 7:00 a.m. (MST).
