GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's wrestling program went 2-2 at the Fire Duals on Thursday.

In the first dual of the day against #3 Indiana Tech senior Kobi Johnson got the Argos on the board defeating Trevor Hisey 12-2. The Argos would fall in the next five matches, but at 174 senior Brady Ellison picked up an upset victory over #11 Michale Durham.

The Argos would continue their momentum with #3 Sawyer Hobbs defeating Landon Buchanon 4-0, and following a loss at 197, freshman Anthony Nava finished the dual off with a 4-3 victory over #25 Ian Clifford as UP fell 26-13.

In the dual against Kesier the Argos fell at 125 to start, but at 133 junior Na'u McBrayer got things going for the Argos defeating Josiah Fernandez 7-5.

Following a loss at 141, the Argos rattled off four straight pins from Tristan Bremer, #1 Pig Hobbs, #22 Blaze Sumiye, and Brady Ellison to put UP in front 27-9.

The Argos would drop the match at 184, but #8 Brendan Lockart pinned #24 Jett McCauley at 197 and #11 Ethan DeRoche defeated Daguy Massilon 4-0 to secure the Argos 36-12 victory over Keiser.

In the dual versus Rochester Christian the Argos won every match besides a Providence forfeit at 141.

Freshman Boden Banta kicked things off with a 19-2 tech fall over Amauri Wright and McBrayer pinned Julian Rojas in 2:56 to put UP ahead 11-0.

#17 Cade White, #20 Irish Furthmyre, and Aden Graves made it four pins in a row to give the Argos a 29-6 lead, and the Argos stayed hot with Brady Ellison defeating Jack Mahon 12-0, #3 Sawyer Hobbs defeated David Vandaele 17-9, #8 Brendan Lockart pinned Nick Meli, and Anthony Nava pinned Issac Furlong to secure the Argos 49-6 victory over Rochester Christian.

In the final dual versus #4 Southeastern Kobi Johnson put the Argos in front defeating Erick Hair 8-1. The Argos would drop the next three matches including a forfeit at 141, but at 157 #1 Pig Hobbs pinned Ryan Bennett to shorten the Southeastern advantage to 15-9.

The Argos would drop the next three matches, but #8 Brendan Lockart picked up an upset victory pinning #6 Karsten Gape and #11 Ethan DeRoche defeated Bryce Wheatley 9-3 as the Argos fell to #4 Southeastern 29-18.

The Argos will be back in action on Jan. 9-10 when they head to Cedar Falls, Iowa, for the NWCA National Duals.
