WILLIAMSBURG, Kent. – The University of Providence women's wrestling program went 5-0 at the Patriot Duals on Friday.

In the first dual of the day the Argos dominated #1 Life University 48-1. #1 Erin Hikiji, #10 Joely Slyter, #8 Alyssa Randles, #6 Esther Han, #5 Elise Twait, and freshman Sydnee Nielson all pinned their opponents while the highlight of the dual came at 110 when #5 Paige Morales defeated #2 Diana Gonzalez 10-0.

The Argos continued to roll into their second dual picking up a 44-3 victory over #19 Campbellsville. Following three forfeits to begin the contest, the Argos won every match including #14 Hailey Sutton's upset victory over #8 Kylee Tait.

In the dual versus Rochester Christian the Argos pinned or earned a forfeit over the first nine contests with Hikiji pinning in 17 seconds, Morales in 48 seconds, Slyter in 1:12, Randles in 45 seconds, Twait in 1:36, Sutton in 55 seconds, and Sigda secured the 45-5 victory with a pin in 11 seconds.

The fourth dual of the day saw the Argos stay hot with Hikiji, Morales, and Slyter picking up wins to put UP in front 14-0. Following a loss at 124, Estrella-Beauchamp and Sigda won via pin and Han and Twait won via Tech Fall to secure the Argos 37-10 victory over #6 Lindsey Wilson.

In the final dual on Friday against #5 Indiana Tech the Argos won the first seven matches with Hikiji defeating #8 Zoey Haney 10-0, Morales defeated #12 Mckenzie Smith 10-0, #10 Joely Slyter pinned #4 Emma Jones, Estrella-Beauchamp pinned #13 Andrea Hernandez, #5 Elise Twait defeated #8 Hayden Newberg 10-0, and the highlight of the dual was #8 Alyssa Randles defeating #4 Rose Kaplan 6-1 in the Argos 33-11 victory over #5 Indiana Tech.

The Argos will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 6 for day two of the Patriot Duals. Wrestling will begin at 7:00 a.m. (MST) in Williamsburg, Kent.
