WILLIAMSBURG, Kent. – The University of Providence women's wrestling program went 2-0 on the final day of the Patriot Duals on Saturday.

In the first dual of the day the Argos had a rematch from Friday with a dual versus #6 Lindsey Wilson.

Each side forfeited two weights, but #1 Erin Hikiji and #5 Paige Morales got things started with a pair of pins in 2:04, and 3:47, respectively.

The highlight of the day came at 117 when freshman #10 Joely Slyter upset #5 Callie Payton 9-4, and #8 Alyssa Randles followed with a tech fall over Abigail Vanderheyden to put UP in front 16-1.

#1 Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp also picked up a victory over Lindsey Wilson with Beauchamp pinning Jeila Ramos in 2:37 to secure the Argos 31-16 victory.

In the final dual of the day versus #5 Indiana Tech the Argos saw Hikiji, Morales, Estrella-Beauchamp, and Twait pick up ranked victories with Hikiji defeating #8 Zoey Haney 10-0, Morales defeating #12 Mackenzie Smith 10-0, Estrella-Beauchamp pinned #13 Andrea Hernandez, and Twait defeated #8 Hayden Newberg 10-0.

The Argos would forfeit 138 and 207, but at 180 senior Kassidy Sigda pinned Haley Diaz in 1:51 to secure the Argos 32-14 victory over #5 Indiana Tech.

The Argos will be back in action Sunday, Dec. 14 when they head to Naperville, Illinois for the North Central Invitational.
