Argos Fall to Dickinson State

GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence men's basketball team fell to Dickinson State 77-67 Sunday afternoon.

The Blue Hawks (4-7) scored the first basket of the game but a jumper from senior Brendan Redhead on the other end tied the game at two.

Dickinson State would score eight straight to take a 10-2 lead, but the Argos (1-10) slowly chipped into the lead with three-pointers from sophomore Quinn Swanson and junior Preston Condie to take a 16-15 edge.

The Argos continued their momentum with a 12-5 run off threes from juniors Jermaine Rogers II and Marcus Lawson to put UP in front 28-20.

Both sides went back-and-forth the rest of the half with a layup from Condie giving the Argos a 36-30 advantage heading into halftime.

Each team traded baskets to begin the second half until a 10-1 run from the Blue Hawks gave Dickinson a 53-49 lead.

The Blue Hawks slowly extended their lead out to nine over the next 10 minutes, and despite an and one from freshman Brady Bantz and a layup from sophomore Anthony Hobbs, the Argos fell to Dickinson State 77-67.

Junior Jermaine Rogers II led the Argos with 16 points while senior Jakub Lloyd added 10 points and eight rebounds.
