GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence men's wrestling program competed at the Battle of the Rockies throughout the day Saturday.
The Argos had two athletes advance to championship matches and six others reached placement matches at the Battle of the Rockies on Saturday
Sophomore
Spencer Johnson placed first at the Battle of the Rockies defeating Pual Thompson 13-4, Thomas Rousseau 7-2, and defeated Taran Goring 13-10 in sudden victory in the championship match.
Senior
Hunter Dyer also advanced to the championship match at the Battle of the Rockies pinning
Dalton Ecklund, defeating Curtis Bartley 4-2, but fell to Parker Ballantyne to finish in second place.
Junior
Eli Abercrombie,
Tynan Krause,
Jesse Anson,
Noah Poe-Hatten, and freshman
Mason Aiken, and
Jett Murray advanced to the placement matches with Abercrombie, Aiken, and Poe-Hatten finishing in third, Krause and Anson in fourth, and Murray in fifth.
The Argos will be back in action Saturday, Dec. 13 when they host #22 Eastern Oregon. The dual is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. (MST) in the McLaughlin Center.
