Final Results from the Doane Open

CRETE, Neb. -- The University of Providence men's wrestling program competed at the Doane Open throughout the day Saturday.  

The Argos had one athlete reach the championship match and two others reach placement matches at the Doane Open on Saturday.

Junior Blaze Sumiye was the highest finisher for the Argos defeating Hunter Song 10-2, #21 Lane Miller 6-3, Jeremiah Drake 10-2, but fell to #17 Justin Windauer to finish in second place.

Junior Cade White finished the Doane Open 5-2 pinning Tate Rusher in 1:32, defeated Johnny Burnette 5-0, defeated Ihi Cobb-Adams 16-1, beat Cole Cross 10-7 in sudden victory, but fell to #7 Jaden Two Lance in the semifinals to finish in fourth.

Junior Irish Furthmyre also finished the Doane Open with a fourth-place finish and a 5-2 record defeating Devin Weber 7-3, Cade Braun 10-0, and #20 Ryan Graves 16-0, but fell to #8 Benjamin Miller to finish in fourth.

The Argos will be back in action Saturday, Dec. 13 when they host #22 Eastern Oregon. The dual is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. (MST) in the McLaughlin Center.
