SALEM, Ore. -- The University of Providence softball program defeated Corban University 4-3 and 15-12 on Saturday afternoon.

In the opening game the Argos (5-3) jumped in front when senior
Marilyn Comack reached on an error to score
Sydnee Weber and
Tiffany Fuentes to put UP ahead 2-0. Â

The Warriors (1-12) scored three runs over the next four innings to grab a 3-2 lead, but an RBI single from senior
Olivia Roe in the fifth scored Weber to tie the game at three apiece.

The Argos would continue their momentum into the top of the sixth when an RBI single to right field from Weber scored
Kasidy Yeoman to put UP in front 4-3.

Freshman
Tehneson Ehnes threw the first 3.1 innings for UP giving up three runs, but sophomore
Ashley Mitchell picked up her second win of the weekend throwing the final 3.2 innings including a strike out to seal the 4-3 victory for UP.

In game two the Argos started scored first following a double from freshman

Sydney Wilting singled to left field to give UP a 1-0 lead.

The Warriors scored six runs over the next two innings, but in the top of the third Roe got a run back for UP with a single up the middle that scored Weber from third.
Â
UP maintained a watchful eye in the fourth as Corban walked the bases loaded and then walked in four consecutive runs as UP tied the game at six.

The Argos continued their momentum with a SAC fly from Roe and an RBI single from sophomore
Gracie Musga to put UP ahead 8-6 heading into the bottom of the fourth.

The Warriors answered with a a two-run homer to tie the game in the fourth and scored three in the bottom of the fifth after an Argo miscue to take a three-run lead into the sixth.

Each side added a run in the sixth, but in the top of the seventh trailing by three junior
Tiffany Fuentes,
Olivia Roe,
Nikki Kendall, and
Tehneson Ehnes all picked up RBI's to take a 15-12 lead into the bottom half.

The Argos were able to hold off the Warriors in the last half of the inning with Mitchell picking up the first save of her career and Kendall threw two innings to pick up her first career win as an Argo.
