GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball program advanced to the Frontier Conference Tournament Championship defeating Carroll College 74-70 Monday night.

The Argos (16-13) scored the first points of the game off a layup from senior
Jamil Bowles, but the Fighting Saints (15-15) responded with a basket on the other end to tie the game at two.

Both teams traded baskets until a 7-0 run from the Fighting Saints put Carroll ahead 14-7, but the Argos would answer with a three from senior
Antoine Boyd Jr. to bring UP within one midway through the half.

The game would stay close and after five straight points from senior
Dylan Hushaw and a pair of layups from Bowles gave the Argos their biggest lead of the half 28-24 with three minutes remaining.

UP led by four with one minute to go but a triple from Bowles and bucket from freshman
Quinn Swanson put UP ahead 38-29 heading into the break.

The Argos started the second half on fire extending their lead to 15 after a jumper from senior
Mike Wright Jr. and threes from Swanson and Boyd Jr gave UP a 51-36 advantage.

UP would continue to stay on top with a jumper from senior
Nikolajs Atanasovs and deep three from Hushaw kept the Argo lead at 14 with six minutes to go.

Carroll would not go away cutting the deficit to three with 50 seconds left, but Hushaw and Bowles sealed the Argos victory at the free throw line as UP defeated Carroll College 74-70. Â

The Argos will be back in action tomorrow, March 4 for the Frontier Conference Tournament Championship. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Pacific Steel & Recycling Arena.
