COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. -- The University of Providence men's soccer
program defeated Walla Walla University 2-1 Friday afternoon.
The Wolves (1-2) scored the first goal of the game when in the 10
th minute a pass into the box from Walla Walla connected with Paulo Tostado and his looping shot went over the outstretched hands of sophomore
Andrew Schoenen to give Walla Walla a 1-0 lead.
The Argos (2-4-1) answered 15 minutes later when a free kick just outside the box from freshman
Musa Jallow went under the Wolves defenders and his rolling shot beat the goalkeeper to tie the game at one.
UP continued their momentum until a ball from sophomore

Pedro Rodrigues in the box and his cross to junior
Geovanni Lugo set up a perfect scoring opportunity and Lugo buried it to put the Argos ahead 2-1.
Both teams had chances over the final 10 minutes of the first half, but neither side found the back of the net as the Argos led 2-1 heading into the break.
The Argos outshot Walla Walla 11-4 in the second half but neither team could add another goal as the Argos defeated Walla Walla 2-1.
The Argos will be back in action Sunday, Sept. 28 when they travel to Portland, Ore. The first touch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (MST) versus Warner Pacific. Â Â
