BILLINGS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's volleyball program dominated Rocky Mountain College for their second straight sweep Saturday night.
In the first set the Argos (9-1) got out to an early 9-3 lead behind a pair of kills from seniors
Ryann Eddins and
Bella Green. UP continued their momentum with an 11-2 run to take a commanding 20-7 lead, and UP would score the final five points of the set with an ace from senior
Bella Thompson securing the first set 25-10.
The second set saw the Argos get out to another early lead behind kills from freshman
Trinity Tinsen and senior
Franny Martins. The Battlin' Bears (0-7) brought the set within three, but the Argos scored seven of the last eight points off kills from senior
Sadie Giles and junior
Martyna Fiedler to take the second set 25-16.
In the third set it was back-and-forth early until a 4-0 run from the Argos behind a kill from Giles put UP in front 10-5. The Argos cruised the rest of the way scoring the final five points of the set with a kill from Eddins securing the third 25-13, and the match 3-0.
Green led the way for the Argos with nine kills, Thompson tallied 16 assists and and junior
Kyra Saiers had a team high 14 digs. With 16 assists in the sweep over the Battlin' Bears,
Bella Thompson surpassed 3000 career assists.
The Argos will be back in action Friday, Sept. 10 when they travel to Havre, Mont. for a matchup with MSU-Northern. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Armory Gymnasium. Â
