GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball team fell to Carroll College 109-101 Saturday night.
The Argos (2-17) scored the first basket of the game off a layup from junior
Marcus Lawson, but the Fighting Saints (13-5) answered with nine straight to take seven-point lead.
Caroll College quicky pushed the lead out to 11 but an 8-2 run from the Argos behind three-pointers from senior
Brendan Redhead and junior
Marvel Chambers Jr. kept UP within three.
Both teams traded baskets until an 8-4 stretch from the Argos behind a three-pointer from junior
Preston Condie and a layup from sophomore
Quinn Swanson put UP ahead 26-23. Â
Each side went back-and-forth until eight straight from the Fighting Saints put Carroll College ahead 40-35.
The Fighting Saints outscored the Argos 16-5 the rest of the half as UP went into halftime trailing 61-46.
Neither side could take control in the second half until an 8-0 run from the Fighting Saints gave Carroll College a 78-56 lead.

Anthony Hobbs and Redhead, but the Fighting Saints controlled the game down the stretch as UP fell to Carroll College 109-101.

The Argos will be back in action Tuesday, Jan. 20 when they head to Havre, Mont. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. versus MSU-Northern.Â
