FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The University of Providence women's wrestling program competed at the Warrior Open throughout the day Saturday.  

#11 Isa Bocanegra, #12 Hailey Sutton, and #17 Kayla Shota all placed third on day two of the Warrior Open..

Bocanegra defeated Kylee Whalan 10-0 in the consolation semifinals before defeating Alexandria Evans 12-4 in the third-place match.

Shota cruised past her opponents on Saturday winning 10-0 and pinning Ella Neibert in 1:34 in the third-place match.

Sutton also went 2-0 on Saturday pinning Haile Crosland in the consolation semfinals before defeating Makyah Newlun 11-0 in the third-place match.

The Argos had six others compete on day two of the Warrior Open with senior Kailey Rees placing fifth, freshman Megan Morales in sixth, and seniors Ty Takamori, Kacey Lee Pua, junior Angelina Doral, and freshman Mckenzie Mills in seventh.

The Argos will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 1 when they head to La Grande, Ore. for the Mountaineer Open.
