DICKINSON, N.D. -- The University of Providence men's basketball team fell to Dickinson State 95-70 Saturday night.
The Blue Hawks (7-15) scored the first five points of the game, and following a layup from junior Marvel Chambers Jr., a three-pointer from Dickinson State put the Blue Hawks ahead 10-2. Â
Over the next eight minutes the Blue Hawks slowly extended the lead out to 19 and following a layup from senior Jakub Lloyd, a pair of baskets put Dickinson State in front 44-21.
Each side went back and forth for the rest of the half with a layup from sophomore Quinn Swanson shortening the Blue Hawk advantage to 54-27 heading into the break.
Both teams traded baskets to begin the second half until six-straight from the Argos (3-19) behind jumpers from Swanson and senior Brendan Redhead made it 60-37.
The Blue Hawks slowly pushed their lead out to 28, and despite a late three from Jermaine Rogers II, the Argos fell to Dickinson State 95-70.
Junior Marvel Chambers Jr. led the way for the Argos with 20 points and senior Jakub Lloyd added 14.
The Argos will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 6 when they host Valley City State. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. (MST) in Great Falls, Mont. Â Â
