HELENA, Mont. -- The University of Providence men's basketball team fell to Carroll College 92-78 Friday night.

Fighting Saints (17-7) scored the first basket of the game, and following a layup from junior Marcus Lawson, a triple from the Fighting Saints put Carroll ahead 6-2.

The Argos (5-20) slowly clawed back over the next eight minutes with baskets from sophomore Quinn Swanson and Lawson to bring the game within one.

Both teams went back-and-forth the rest of the half with a layup from Lawson cutting the Carroll advantage to 39-36 heading into halftime.

Carroll College pushed the lead out to 10 to begin the second half but a 9-0 run behind layups from senior Jakub Lloyd and junior Marvel Chambers Jr. cut the edge to one.

The Fighting Saints answered stretching the lead out to 14 over the next six minutes, and despite a late three from junior Jermaine Rogers II, UP fell to Carroll College 92-78.

The Argos will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 14 when they head to Billings, Mont. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. (MST) versus #11 Rocky Mountain College.
