JAMESTOWN, N.D. -- The University of Providence softball program split their pair of games on Saturday at the Nelson Family Bubble Invite defeating Valley City State 13-10 and fell to Northern State 10-4.

In game one the Wolves (0-5) scored the first two runs of the game but in the bottom of the third junior
Tehneson Ehnes singled to center to score
Aleana Aionaaka and
Kasidy Yeoman to tie the game at two.

The Argos continued their momentum with a single from junior
Erin Bishop to score Ehnes, but the Wolves answered in the top of the fourth with four runs of their own to take a 3-6 lead.

The Argos added a run in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run from freshman
Madison Moultray, but Northern State scored four runs the rest of the way as UP fell to the Wolve 10-4.

In game two the Argos got on the board first when Ehnes singled to score Yeoman from third, and UP would continue their momentum adding an RBI single from senior
Tiffany Fuentes in the second, and a two run home-run from Ehnes in the third put UP in front 5-0.

Following an RBI double from
Alix Bishop the Vikings answered with a solo home run, but the Argos got in back in the top of the sixth with RBI singles from Fuentes and junior
Ella Galloway to give UP a 7-1 edge.

Each side would add a run until the Vikings scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at nine.

The Argos answered in the top of the seventh when
Alix Bishop hit a bases clearing single and
Madison Moultray hit in Bishop to give UP a four-run lead heading into the bottom of the seventh.

The Vikings added a run in the bottom of the seventh to cut the lead to three, but Moultray slammed the door down the stretch as UP defeated Valley City State 13-10.

The Argos will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 21 when they head to Caldwell, Idaho for the College of Idaho Tournament. UP will face the Yotes on Saturday and #3 Eastern Oregon on Sunday.
