GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence softball program defeated Bismarck State 9-0 (6) and 11-10 (8) Friday afternoon in the home opener.

In game one the Argos (12-15) scored the first run of the contest when senior Jaden Ruiz laid down a safety squeeze bunt to score freshman Mia Monroe from third.
 
The Argos continued their momentum into the bottom of the third when junior Erin Bishop hit an RBI double to left field and junior Alix Bishop and sophomore Madison Moultray followed with home runs to put UP in front 5-0.
 
UP continued to add runs with a pair of RBI's from junior Tehneson Ehnes to extend the lead to seven and in the bottom of the sixth E. Bishop doubled to left field to score junior Kasidy Yeoman and freshman Aleana Aionaaka to walk off the Mystics (8-19) in game one via run rule 9-0.
 
Moultray threw all six innings for her third straight complete game, striking out five and only allowed two runners to reach base.
 
In game two the Argos got on the board first when in the bottom of the second Moultray hit her second home run of the day to put UP in front 2-0.
 
The Mystics answered with six runs in the top of the third, but the Argos clawed back with an RBI single from A. Bishop and a three-run home run from E. Bishop to tie the game at six.
 
UP took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the fifth after a fielder's choice pushed A. Bishop across, but the Mystics added a run in the sixth and two in the seventh to take a 9-7 lead into the bottom half.
 
With the Argos down to their final out, junior Ella Galloway pinch hit and turned around the first pitch she saw for a two-run home run to left field to tie the game at nine.
 
After a shut-down top of the eighth from Moultray, Yeoman came to the plate with runners on first and second and hit a walk-off RBI double to right field to score Ruiz and secure the 10-9 extra inning victory.
