SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -- The University of Providence softball program split with Dakota State defeating the Trojans 9-0 and falling 6-3 on Thursday.
In game one the Argos (15-16) pushed the first runs across in the top of the first when junior
Kasidy Yeoman hit an RBI double to left field and junior
Alix Bishop hit a two-run home run to left center to put UP in front 3-0.

The Argos continued their momentum adding a three-run home run from sophomore
Madison Moultray and Yeoman hit a solo home run the inning after to extend the UP lead to seven.

Junior
Alix Bishop added her third RBI of the day in the top of the fourth and Moultray followed with a SAC fly to give the Argos a 9-0 lead heading into the fifth.

The Trojans (9-21) put a runner on in the bottom of the fifth, but Moultray slammed the door pitching all five innings allowing zero runs and striking out three as the Argos defeated Dakota State 9-0.

In game two the Argos scored the first run of the contest when junior
Erin Bishop hit a two-run home run to left field, but the Trojans answered with a run in the bottom half to cut the UP advantage to 2-1.

UP responded with A. Bishop's second home run of the day to push the lead back to two, but Dakota State scored five runs in the final two innings as the Argos fell to the Trojans 6-3.
