GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence softball program won their seventh and eighth straight games by defeating Carroll College 11-2 and 18-16 Tuesday night. With the Argos extending their winning streak to eight games, they have set a new program record for the longest win streak in program history.

In game one the Argos (26-19) scored the first runs of the contest when in the bottom of the first junior
Erin Bishop hit a two-run home run to put UP in front 2-0.

The Fighting Saints (16-16) answered with two runs in the top of the third but UP added a run in the third and two in the fourth behind an RBI double and a two RBI single from junior
Tehneson Ehnes to give the Argos a 5-3 lead.

The Argos continued their momentum into the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single from junior
Kaily Gull and Ehnes picked up her fourth, fifth, and sixth RBIs of the game with a bases clearing double to secure the Argos 11-2 victory.

Sophomore
Madison Moultray threw all five innings with three strikeouts for her 10
th win on the mound of the season. Â

In game two the Fighting Saints pushed the first runs across scoring eight in the top of the first, but the Argos started to chip away in the bottom half with a pair of RBI singles from Ehnes and E. Bishop to cut the lead to six.

The Argos continued to pressure in the bottom of the second adding six runs behind an RBI single from junior
Kasidy Yeoman and a two RBI single from E. Bishop to tie the game at eight.

Following a scoreless third inning the Argos added four runs in the bottom of the fourth when Moultray hit a bases clearing double and senior
Tiffany Fuentes hit a fielder's choice to score a run to put UP in front 12-8.

Carroll College added three runs in the top of the fifth, but in the bottom half UP added a pair of runs behind a double steal that scored Aionaaka and a SAC fly from E. Bishop to push the lead to 14-11.

The Fighting Saints did not go away, adding two runs in the sixth to cut the lead to one, but in the bottom half Fuentes hit a SAC fly, junior
Ella Galloway picked up an RBI single, and Ehnes hit a two RBI double to extend the Argo advantage to 18-13.

Despite Carroll College putting the tying run on second base in the top of the seventh, A. Bishop slammed the door pitching all seven innings for her second win on the mound of the season.
