VALLEY CITY, N.D. -- The University of Providence softball program fell to Valley City State 4-2 and 5-1 Friday afternoon.
 
The Vikings (24-23) pushed the first runs across adding a pair in second and the fourth, but the Argos (26-21) answered with an RBI single from junior Tehneson Ehnes in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to three.
 
Following a scoreless sixth inning, the Argos added a run in the top of the seventh with a double steal that scored freshman Aleana Aionaaka, and despite UP bringing the tying runner to the plate, they were unable to find the equalizer as UP fell in game one 4-2.
 
In game two the Argos scored the first run of the contest when in the top of the second sophomore Madison Moultray hit solo home run to right center field to put UP in front 1-0.
 
Valley City added three runs in the bottom of the second and two in the bottom of the third, and despite a few late base runners from the Argos, UP fell in game two 5-1.
