Injured Argos Battle Against Metropolitan State University of Denver

DENVER, Colo. – An undermanned and tired Argo roster struggled against Metropolitan State University of Denver, losing 21-3 with just 13 healthy players. Among those injured for UGF was junior starter McKinley Ridenour, one of the team's more experienced plays and one of the squad's two faceoff men.

"Playing a team like that really showed us how much we need to work on our throwing and catching," head coach Fred Boekel said. "We kept fighting till the end but they were just better than we were."

UGF struggles started at the faceoff X, winning just five throughout the game. With that issue already limiting Argo possessions, the team needed to make the most of every chance to score. While Josh Smith, Joseph Moser, and Kobe Johnson each found the back of the net once, UGF turnovers prevented any more scores than three.

Moser, a senior midfielder, also assisted on Johnson's goal to give him the team lead in points for the game.

Having played three games in as many days, the Argo roster is left battered and bruised. The team will have three days to rest and heal before they play their first Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League game of the season. That game will be another road contest, this time in Spokane, Wash., against Central Washington University on Saturday, March 12 at 4 p.m. MST.
