GREAT FALLS, Mont. – An eighth player has joined the 2018 Recruiting Class for the University of Providence lacrosse with the signing of attackman Keith Swainston. He will be the first member of the class to play primarily at attack.
"I chose UP because of the low student to teacher ratio and the many academic benefits along with its location," Swainston said. "Montana is a new place for me to explore and become familiar with while also being similar to Idaho. Many of the activities I grew up with are still very accessible in Montana."
Swainston also brings some needed size to the class at 6-2, 190 lbs. With 11 years of lacrosse under his belt, he will bring a valuable depth of experience to a team that includes a number of players that didn't start playing the sport until high school.
In his most recent year of varsity high school play with Timberline High School in Boise, Idaho, Swainston showcased a strong finishing touch with 22 goals, while also demonstrating a willingness to share the ball with 16 assists.
Along with playing for the Timberline Wolves, the attacker is also part of the True Lacrosse Idaho club team. He also played football in high school and has spent significant volunteering at the Boise Rescue Mission and the Idaho Food Bank.
Swainston plans to major in Biology at the University of Providence.
