GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Argo Wrestling inked a pair of local former C.M. Russell student-athletes in Deven Altenburg and KC Buday to spring roster, announced by head wrestling coach
Caleb Schaeffer.
Altenburg, a native of Great Falls, Montana was a four-time letterman winner and state qualifier as a Rustler, placing sixth at state his sophomore season at 103 pounds. He was a three-year team captain and had 79 career wins as a Rustler. In the classroom, Altenburg received Academic All-state honors. Altenburg, a transfer from D-II Minot State, has begun competing with the Argos this spring at the NWCA NAIA Multi-National Duals and the Tyler Plummer Open.
Buday, from Great Falls, Montana was a four-time letterman and three-time state qualifier, placing at sixth at state. He also earned recognition at C.M. Russell as the most improved wrestler in 2017 and received the Coach's Award in 2018. Off the mat, Buday was a four-time honor roll recipient, in addition to being a member of the National Honor Society.
"Excited to have two more local talents join the program," expressed Coach Schaeffer. "They both come from a great coaching program run by Aaron Jenson at C.M. Russel. They will bring immediate depth to our nationally-ranked program."
