Whitehouse Led Argo Rodeo at MCC Rodeo

MILES CITY, Mont. – Argo Rodeo competed at the Miles Community College Rodeo this past weekend with the men's team finishing eighth during the two-day competition, garnering a total of 20 points. The women's team did not place.

"Miles City is a tough rodeo. Friday night, we open the rodeo with a performance at 7 p.m., followed up with slack until midnight, and then slack again at 8 a.m. on Saturday. It's a taxing weekend on the athletes," said head coach Dick Lyman. "It's rodeo and a level that many of our students haven't experienced yet."

Austin Whitehouse held fifth following the long round with a 10.2, but after missing in the long round he would claim a 10th-place finish in steer wrestling as the Argos sole placer for the weekend.

"We have a lot of young talent and have been cultivating that this year. The team has been exposed to a lot of adversity this year and they're handling it well," said coach Lyman. "We have learned a lot these past few competitions, have our eyes set on the Montana Rodeo, and are looking to make a statement as we close out the season in Missoula and at home."
