Great Falls, Mont. – Southern Idaho Men dominated the 2019 University of Providence Invitational Cross-Country Meet. The top 4 finishers all attend Southern Idaho University. The gold medal went to Abdifatah Maqtal running the 8K race in a time of 25:12:7. The best time for a Montana runner was Spencer Swaim, from Carroll College who finished 5
th with a time of 27:02:69.
The University of Providence had two runners in the race. Freshman
Nash Grafe completed the course in a time of 28:05:9 and Junior
Sage Wanner turned in his personal best of 29:19:16.

Tony Arntson commented, "The course was running fast today. I'm very excited on how my team performed. We continue to improve with each competition."
The women's meet featured a 5K run and was also dominated by Southern Idaho. First place went to Sophomore Madison Flippence with a time of 19:06:55. Her time was a 6:10 Mile pace. The University of Providence runner finishing in the top 20 was Alexis Cavalier leading the way with a 15
th place finish in a time of 22:32:50.
The UP Cross-Country team continues to prepare for the next meet which will be held in Missoula October 4, 2019.
