WHITEFISH, Mont. – Four student-athletes from the University of Providence men's basketball team were named to the
Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference team, the league announced Friday morning.
JF Daho,
Dawson Fowler, KJ Ng and Jake Wetzel were four of 36 Frontier Conference athletes named to the team. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, maintain a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in the school for the previous two semesters.
"We're happy that those guys set the tone for what we want all our athletes to do academically," head coach
Steve Keller said. "I'm real proud of their efforts in the classroom and what they contribute to our program. Those are the type of athletes that we try to get here at the college."
Daho and Fowler are both majoring in exercise science. Ng is majoring in forensic science and psychology, while Wetzel is majoring in addictions counseling and psychology.
"They are all smart on and off the floor and that carries directly on the basketball court," Keller said. "They are also disciplined enough to make sure they do their schoolwork. They're hard workers on and off the floor. We're all very proud of them."
