Finberg-Roberts Named Setter of the Week

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Cydney Finberg-Roberts of the University of Providence volleyball team was named the Frontier Conference Setter of the Week on Monday.

Finberg-Roberts had a stellar performance for the weekend, especially considering the fact that she hadn't played a collegiate game in over a year. During Friday's win vs. Carroll, Finberg-Roberts recorded 49 assists, seven digs and five kills. She improved on Saturday, recording 51 assists, 16 digs and five kills.

"I thought she did a really nice job of coming in and running a nice offense," head coach Arunas Duda said. "That's one of the huge luxuries when you return your setter and you've been able to coach them up for a couple years."

Duda says that his setter, who broke the Frontier Conference record for assists in a match last season, did a great job of spreading the ball around to a variety of different hitters.

"She dispersed the ball evenly," Duda said. "I think we were within 20-30 sets for each one of our starters. The hitting percentages were way up. Anytime you can do that you know your setter is doing a nice job."

This is the third time Finberg-Roberts has been named the Frontier Conference Setter of the Week; she won the award twice last season. She was also named the NAIA National Setter of the Week after her record-breaking performance against Rocky Mountain College to win a share of the conference title last season.

The Argos will host their first games of the season when the Battlin' Bears of Rocky Mountain come to town. The Argos (1-1, 1-1) will host a double-header, facing the Bears (2-0) on Friday at 7 p.m. and on Saturday at 1 p.m.
