GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence Strength and Conditioning Department announced the April Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Month on Monday.
Alivia Atlee (softball),
Jordan Komac (men's wrestling) and
Grace Weber (women's basketball) were given the award by head strength and conditioning coach
Will Seevers.
Atlee, a Glacier High School graduate from Kalispell, Mont., completed her sophomore season for the Argo softball team, recording seven hits, five RBIs and three runs for the team.
"Alivia possesses all of the qualities that it takes to earn Athlete of The Month in the weight room," Seevers said. "She refuses to make excuses in her life and shows up every day with a positive attitude. Alivia truly leads by example, is a joy to be around and sets the bar high for her teammates."
Komac, a redshirt sophomore from Great Falls High School, had a successful season for the Argos. In a shortened season, Komac was ranked as high as
4th in the nation and
qualified for the NAIA National Championship.
"Jordan is a guy that the team gravitates towards," Seevers said. "His presence has a huge impact on the team's energy and effort in the weight room for that day. I am impressed with his leadership qualities and ability to motivate and push his teammates. Jordan is dependable, respectful and accountable."
Weber, a freshman from Dutton, Mont., completed her freshman season for the Argo women's basketball team. Despite being an underclassmen, Weber is a huge part of the team's success in the weight room this offseason.
"Grace sets the tone for strength and conditioning with the women's basketball team," Seevers said. "She is always putting in extra work to enhance her sport performance. Her teammates all respect her and look up to her in the weight room. Grace has a tremendous work ethic and a great attitude towards training."
The Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Month is awarded by the strength and conditioning staff to an athlete who embodies the
three core values of the the Argo Strength and Conditioning Philosophy: strength of discipline, strength of spirit and strength of unity.
