Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 HAVRE, Mont. – The #10 University of Providence volleyball team won the final two games of the Frontier Conference Preseason Tournament to end the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record.

The Argos (13-2) defeated Rocky Mountain College (25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 25-19) in the afternoon before taking down tournament host Montana-State Northern (25-21, 23-25, 25-13, 25-22) in the evening.

"I'm definitely pleased with how we handled adversity this weekend," head coach Arunas Duda said. "When push came to shove in a lot of our sets today, we came out on top. That just goes to show their character and perseverance."

Madysen Hoerner led the attack for the Argos (13-2) against the Battlin' Bears (8-10), recording a total of 16 kills. Jenna Thorne added 14 while Sadie Lot notched 13. Cydney Finberg-Roberts recorded 53 assists on the night. Sacha Legros was the best defender on the court, recording 36 digs for the squad, while Taylor Christensen added 21. Zoe Naugle led the team at the net with four blocks.

Legros also paced the team defensively against the Skylights (10-7), recording 24 digs. Finberg-Roberts was her usual self with 43 assists in the game. Mariah Jardine led the Argos with 14 kills, while Thorne and Lott notched 11 and 10, respectively. Jardine and Naugle both recorded four blocks for the team.

"Mariah did a really good job, especially in that last game," Duda said. "She stepped up big time in key moments for us all weekend long, both offensively and at the net. I'm really pleased with how she played."

Though the tournament consisted of conference teams, all games were counted as non-conference contests. With official Frontier Conferences games beginning this upcoming week, the tournament concluded the squad's non-conference schedule. The Argos are currently 13-2, with a 6-1 record against teams that are either ranked or receiving votes in the latest NAIA National Poll.

"We have a lot of talent that is going to continue to push to be at the top," Duda said. "It's going to be a battle with conference play starting up. There were a lot of close matches with a lot of good sets this weekend. We know there's going to be a lot of work ahead but we're excited for the opportunity."

The Argos will begin conference play this Friday, with a road matchup against #15 Montana Tech. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m.
