GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence men's basketball program announced that Jackson Esary has signed his letter of intent and will join the team next season.
Esary, who is the younger brother of current Argo women's basketball star
Parker Esary, joins the team from Kalama High School in Kalama, Wash., where he played both basketball and football. Esary has recorded over 1,250 points, 700 rebounds and 350 assists over the course of his high-school career. As a junior, he was named the Co-MVP of the league while being named 1
st Team All-Area and was the outright MVP of the league as a senior. As a member of the football team, Esary led his team to both a state championship and a league championship.
"Jackson is a winner and knows what it takes to win games at a high level," head coach
Steve Keller said. "He has proven that on and off both the court and field. He will bring both mental and physical toughness to our program. We expect him to be a very good player in our league."
Esary was named to the Honor Roll in high school and plans to study business at Providence.
