WHITEFISH, Mont. – Marcus Stephens and Dawson Fowler were recognized by the Frontier Conference, who released the 2021-22 All-Conference Men's Basketball team on Tuesday.

Stephens was named 2nd Team All-Conference while Fowler was named to the All-Defensive team. Fowler was also recognized as a Champion of Character.

Stephens was named 2nd Team All-Conference after putting in a solid season for the Argos. He averaged 20.4 points per game, good for second in the conference in scoring, trailing only teammate Brendan Howard (21.1 ppg). He was named the Frontier Conference Player of the Week three times over the course of the year. Unfortunately he missed five conference games this year due to a back injury.

"It's a good honor for him," head coach Steve Keller said. "He missed so many games so I didn't know if he'd get the recognition. He got some respect from the coaches in our league. The games he did play he averaged over 20 a game so it's a nice honor."

Fowler was also recognized as one of five players to qualify for the All-Defensive Team. Routinely matched up with the opposing team's best player no matter their size, Fowler led the team in both steals (32) and blocks (18). He finished second in the conference in steals and fifth in blocks. He also finished second on the team with 134 total rebounds, good for 6.1 boards a game.

"He was our best defender," Keller said. "He was also one of our best rebounders. He would always guard the best player. He was a guy who did all the dirty work for us and never complained. He definitely deserved that honor."

Fowler also was named a Champion of Character, the second straight year he has received the award. The Champion of Character award is given to a student-athlete that embodies integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.

"His character is unmatched," Keller said. "He was such a great kid both on and off the floor. I would take him on my team anywhere anytime. I'm glad he played for us."
