WHITEFISH, Mont. – Eight players from the University of Providence men's basketball team were named to the Frontier Academic All-Conference men's basketball team, the conference
announced Tuesday morning. The number marks the most academic all-conference selections since Keller has been the head coach of the Argos.
Josiah Amunrud (biology),
JF Daho (exercise science),
Dawson Fowler (exercise science),
Tanner Goligoski (business administration),
Connor Murgel (biology),
Elijah Oliver (psychology),
Jake Olsen (exercise science),
Fisher Richardson (business administration) and
Brett Thompson were all recognized by the conference.
"It's pretty awesome," head coach
Steve Keller said. "It says a lot about our program and how we put academics first. Our kids are here to get their degree."
To earn recognition to the Academic All-Conference team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing and maintain a 3.25 GPA.
"You like your players to be good on and off the floor," Keller said. "They don't miss any class, they're on time and when they show up, whether it's in the classroom or to practice, they're working hard."
