GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The University of Providence men's wrestling program opened their season with a 41-6 victory over Northwest College Saturday morning.
The match got underway with redshirt freshman
Na'u McBrayer defeating Kaiden Rubash. McBrayer had four takedowns in the first period and did not let up the rest of the way, winning 17-10.
Redshirt sophomore
Dante Reviglio would follow McBrayer pinning Kendell Cummings 19 seconds into the match.
Following a loss by redshirt freshman
Jalen Vladic, #14 ranked sophomore
Aden Graves defeated Jack Lounsbury 19-4. Graves had four takedowns and a reversal in his victory.
#5 ranked redshirt sophomore
Bridger Hall then followed up Graves' victory with a 9-5 victory of his own. Despite letting up a takedown in the first period, Hall was able to control the match the rest of the way. Hall's victory gave the Argos (1-0) a 17-3 lead halfway through the match.
UP would then have four straight pins in the final four matches to secure the victory 41-6. Freshman
Hunter Hobbs pinned his opponent in 56 seconds, #24 ranked redshirt senior
Alan Badley pinned his in 1:55, #9 ranked sophomore
Sawyer Hobbs in 1:14, and #3 ranked senior
KC Buday in 5:28.
The Argos will be back in action Nov. 8 when they visit MSU-Northern for a dual in Havre, Mont.
