GREAT FALLS, Mont. - University of Providence volleyball coach Arunas Duda recently announced the signing of former CMR standout Ella Cochran to the Argo program.

Cochran comes to the Argos after a stellar career as an Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist for the Rustlers and says the opportunity to stay close to home was a factor in her decision, "I chose UP because I really like the program, and I get to play with former teammates.

"Truly I thought I wanted to go out of state and maybe play some beach volleyball. Then I made the final decision to stay in state and it came down to Rocky and Providence. After my visit I knew right away I wanted to be here."

Duda, who will be entering his 20th season coaching the Argos, says getting Cochran is big for the future of the program, "She was a great hitter in high school. I think she will start out for us just playing really good defense. Her serve/receive is solid. A kid like that just finds her way onto the court. We are really excited for her to contribute to what we got going on. It's a kid that just loves to compete, loves to win and anytime you can add someone like that to the program, you are in good shape."

The Argos will look to turn around an anomaly of a season in which the team went 10-20 overall and finished just 2-8 in the Frontier Conference.
