GREAT FALLS, Mont, --Head coach J.C. Isakson has announced the addition of nine players that will be attending the University of Providence and playing basketball for the Argos. They join 13 total returners and eight who played in the Frontier Conference championship game last season.

"We are very happy with our first recruiting class. We returned 13 of 15 players from last year's team. The cupboards were not bare. But, with this recruiting class we added a healthy blend of high school recruits, junior college transfers, and four-year transfers. We got longer, added depth, and brought in some players that can make an immediate impact."

Four-year College Transfers
Jaylin Reed – 6-5 – Guard – Lodi, Calif. – Lodi High School / Adams State University
Reed started four games for Adams State last season where he averaged 7.2pts. Prior to his time for the Grizzles he averaged 20pts and seven rebounds per game at Penisula College where he was a first team all-league selection his sophomore year.
Coach Isakson on Reed
"Jaylin was a teammate of Davien Harris-Williams at Peninsula College. He is a long guard that can guard all five positions, rebound, and score from all three levels."

Freddy Brown III – 6-3 – Guard – Neah Bay, Wash. – Nathan Hale HS / University of Montana
Brown had a decorated high school career being named the U.S. Marine Corp male athlete of the year in 2018. He was also part of the team that went 29-0 and defeated Oak Hill and Sierra Canyon. Collegiately, he joined as a walk-on before becoming a full-scholarship player for the Grizzles. He was also a four-time academic all-conference selection and won the 2021 Dennis T. Murphy coaches award.
Coach Isakson on Brown
"Freddy is a high IQ player, high character young man, vocal leader, and a shooting threat that will immediately make us better on both ends of the court. His best basketball is ahead of him."

Jevon Burton – 6-5 – Forward – Houston, Texas – Porter High School / University of North Texas (Dallas)
Burton averaged 27pts, 11.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists his senior year at Porter High School. He was named the district MVP, county offensive player of the year, and an all-region team selection.
Coach Isakson on Burton
"Jevon is a family friend of Brandon Jones, former All-American at Montana Western and former teammates with Coach Smalls. Brandon put Jevon on our radar and knows what it takes to be an impact player in the Frontier. Jevon can play all five positions, defend, and rebound."

Junior College Transfers

Coach Isakson on Hunter
"Eli was one of the best high school players in Montana last year. He's long, athletic, and can score in a variety of ways. We have known Eli since he was an eighth grader and made it a priority to make him an Argo. He has all the tangible and intangible tools to be a very good player in the Frontier."

Stuckman was a state champion runner-up and a three-time academic All-State athlete in his time for the Bison.

Sean Mercado – 6-0 – Guard – Seeley Lake, Mont. – Seeley Swan High School
Mercado helped lead the Blackhawks to a second place finish in districts his junior year. His senior season he was named the team captain and was an all-conference and academic All-State selection.
Coach Isakson on Mercado
