Ava Saiers have been named the Erck Hotels Frontier Conference Players of the Week.
This is the first time since the 2021 season that the Argos have swept the Frontier Conference Player of the Week awards. Head coach
Arunas Duda on his athlete's performance stated, "Congrats to Bell and Nina who continue to perform at a high level on the court. They are playing some of their best volleyball right now and it's really impressive to watch. I am so excited for Ava to receive this honor for the first time because we know she is so deserving. She provides it in practice every day and is a great leader for our team!"
Saiers is a Libero from Valley Springs, Calif. and totaled 38 digs for 6.33 digs per set in the Argos two wins. Saiers is currently third in the conference in total digs with 358.
This is Saier's first Defender of the Week award this season and the first of her career after transferring to the Argos this season from Adams State.
Thompson is a setter from Kapahulu, Oahu and totaled 84 assists to average 14.00 assists per set over the weekend. Thompson also recorded 28 digs and had five total blocks in the two wins. Thompson is currently #1 in the NAIA in assists per set and leads the conference in both total assists and assists per set.
This is Thompsons second straight, and six overall Setter of the Week award this season, and her eighth of her career after taking it home twice her freshman season.
Janjic is a right-side hitter from Novi Sad, Serbia and totaled 31 kills for 5.17 kills per set with a hitting percentage of .538 in the Argos two wins. Janjic is currently leading the conference in kills per set with 3.85 and is third in total kills with 212.
This is Janjic's fourth Attacker of the Week award this season after she took home the award three times earlier this season. This is also the fourth time in her career that Nina has been named the Frontier Conference Attacker of the Week after being named an Honorable Mention All-American last season.
The Argos will be back in action Oct. 10 when they travel to Billings, Mont. for a neutral site matchup versus #2 Jamestown. Gametime is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
