KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Providence women's volleyball program moved up one spot to #1 to set a new mark for the highest ranking in program history in the latest NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches Ratings on Wednesday.

Head coach Arunas Duda stated, "Becoming the #1 team in the nation is a huge honor and a historic moment for our program. This group has earned it through toughness, consistency, and an unselfish commitment to each other. We will certainly enjoy this honor and feeling of achieving this milestone, but also realize that our work is not complete."

The Argos were ranked #2 in previous poll and have since defeated all four Frontier Conference opponents they faced in Valley City State, Mayville State, Bismarck State, and Dickinson State to extend their win streak to 24 games. #1 is a new program record for the highest ranking in program history for the Argo volleyball and joins men's wrestling as the only two programs to reach the #1 ranking in the NAIA.

UP also has earned 11 Frontier Conference Player of the Week awards and two NAIA Player of the Week awards so far this season. Junior Cabry Taylor was named the Frontier Conference and the NAIA Defender of the Week twice, while senior Bella Thompson has earned seven Frontier Conference Setter of the Week's and one NAIA Setter of the week, junior Kyra Saiers earned the Frontier Conference Defender of the Week, and junior Martyna Fiedler was named the Frontier Conference Attacker of the Week.

The Argos will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 31 when they head to Madison, S.D. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. (MST) versus Dakota State.
