SPOKANE, Wash. -- The University of Providence men's wrestling program competed at the Spokane Open throughout the day Sunday.
The Argos had four athletes crowned champions and four others reached placement matches at the Spokane Open on Sunday.
Freshman
Diesel Thompson, junior
Pig Hobbs, junior
Jalen Vladic, and senior
Brady Ellison all placed first at the Spokane Open.
Thompson finished his day 4-0 defeating Carter Tughan 21-3, Duke Wentzel 7-6, Jackson Eylar 7-3, and Jacob Moore 19-5 in the championship match.
Hobbs went 5-0 on Sunday pinning Raymond Slater in 24 seconds, Carlos Valdez in 56 seconds, Damon Gasilosl in 2:14, defeated Ryan Graves 5-0, and took the forfeit in the championship match to teammate
Myles Christen.
Vladic finished his day 5-0 pinning Dakota Katzer in 1:47, defeating John Rudebaugh 13-8, pinned Jack Hatch in 2:01, defeated Benjamen Mitchell 13-5, and took down Hugh Wheeler 8-2 in the championship match.
Ellison was the last first-place finisher going 5-0 on Sunday defeating Aiden Rocha 17-2, Arashk Rastl 15-3, pinned Beau Mares in 4:31, defeated Andre Leota 6-3, and took down Calus Harbridge 14-1 in the championship match.

Mason Aiken also made placement matches with Christen finishing in second, Armstrong and Shigemoto in fourth, and Aiken in sixth.
The Argos will be back in action Dec. 5-6 when they host the Battle of the Rockies. Wrestling will take place in the McLaughlin Center on Friday and Saturday in Great Falls.
