LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The University of Providence men's wrestling program competed at the Mountaineer Open throughout the day Sunday.  
The Argos had two athletes place in the top two and four others finished in the top five on Sunday.
Freshman 
Diesel Thompson was the highlight for the Argos with a 3-1 record and a second-place finish. Thompson defeated #20 Brayden Boyd 22-7 in the first round.
The Argos other top-two placer was freshman 
Anthony Nava who went 4-0 to advance to the championship match before falling in overtime 5-2.
Junior 
Eli Abercrombie, and freshman 
Kaden MacKenzie and 
Gabe Finley finished their days with fourth-place finishes and freshman 
Myles Christen went 3-3 for fifth-place.  
The Argos will be back in action Wednesday, Nov. 12 when they head to Havre, Mont. UP will wrestle #23 MSU-Northern at 7:00 p.m. (MST).
