CORVALLIS, Ore. – After picking up a crucial ranked victory in the Argos dual victory over #13 MSU-Northern, sophomore Blaze Sumiye has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Wrestler of the Week.

Blaze is from Ewa Beach, Hawaii and defeated #13 Travis Waldner 7-5 in the second overtime period in the Argos 23-18 dual victory over MSU-Northern.

This is Sumiye's first career CCC Wrestler of the Week award joining Aden Graves, Abel Nava Jr., Caleb Werner, Joel Avila, Hayden Schrull, Payton Hume, KC Buday and Jordan Komac as the only wrestlers in the last four seasons to be named CCC Wrestler of the Week.

Head coach Steve Komac on Blaze's performance stated, "Blaze has been on an uphill trajectory all season long. His potential has been obvious to everybody in the room. He is excited and hungry and doing a great job for us!"

The Argos are back in action Feb. 21-22 when they travel to Redding, Calif. for the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships.
