REDDING, Calif. – The University of Providence men's wrestling team had six wrestlers qualify for the NAIA National Championships at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament Saturday.

Tristan Bremer all secured berths to the NAIA National Championships on Saturday.
Johnson defeated #10 Kolten Powers 3-2, Hall beat #13 Travis Waldner 4-3, Nava Jr. defeated #12 Devin Crawford 13-2, and Hobbs defeated #11 Adrian Chavez-Morales 7-4 to advance to the championship matches and punch their tickets to the NAIA National Championships. Â
Despite advancing to the championship matches at the CCC Tournament on Saturday, Johnson fell to #4 Landon Smith in overtime, Hall fell to #2 Keller Rock 17-2, Nava Jr. fell to #7 Daniil Gorshkov 5-4, and Hobbs fell to #13 Isaiah Twait in double overtime.Â
DeRoche had the most matches of the tournament in a stacked 285 bracket defeating Kaiden Cisneros and #19 Darrian Hoobery to secure his NAIA Championships berth before falling in the third-place match to #4 Kenneth Copley.
Bremer went 2-1 on Saturday defeating #12 Christian Lopez 12-9 and then with a NAIA Championship berth on the line Bremer defeated #16 Luke Jensen 4-2 in the fifth-place match.
Sophomores
Jalen Vladic and
Blaze Sumiye both placed fourth, but in true-fourth place matches for the final allocations at 149 and 165, Vladic fell to Tyler Diaz 13-9 and Sumiye lost to Orion Thivierge 11-6.
The Argos will be looking for at-large bids for the remainder of their wrestlers that will be announced on Tuesday, February 25.
The Argos will be back in action March 6-8 when they head to Park City, Kansas for the NAIA National Championships.
