BILLINGS, Mont. – The University of Providence indoor track and field teams competed at Yellowjacket Open throughout the day Thursday.

The Argos had a few highlights in senior Tatiana Martinez and freshman Lauren Cima qualifying at B Standard in the discus with throws of 46.92m and 44.64m, respectively. Martinez is now a four-time National Qualifier for the NAIA National Championships in her career as an Argo.  

UP also had a pair of athletes place first in Kelsey Stensland-Plymale in the 1500M with a time of 4:53.62, and junior Shelbey Klein placed first in the Javelin with a throw of 38.61m.  

The final highlight of the meet was freshman Brooklyn Ludemann in her first meet as an Argo broke the program record in the 100M with a time of 12.53.

UP had six other athletes place in the top three at the Yellowjacket Open in Savannah Ivins in the 800M, Zoran LaFrombois in the 1500M, Ciaran Molloy in the 5000M, Josh Golemon in the Shot Put, Lauren Cima in the Shot Put, Discus, and Hammer Throw, and Havyn Vandenacre in the Javelin.  

The Argos will be back in action April 3-4 when they head to Helena, Mont. for the Carroll College Invite. Athletes will be competing throughout the day at East Helena High School.
